Modern Kitchen for a Modern Home
Designing a modern kitchen is all about creating a space that is both functional and stylish. But what exactly does that mean? Well, it depends on the home and the homeowner’s personal style.
For our latest client project, we created a contemporary kitchen with traditional elements that were both beautiful and practical for their brand-new bespoke home in Aberdeenshire.
Exploring styles
There is a lot to choose from in our showroom in Ellon, we start by understanding the style our clients want to create, as well as all the practical elements that need to be included and, most importantly, their budget. Creating a mood board, helps us get to know our clients, wants, needs, likes, and dislikes.
Thinking about the layout
From measurements, we draw a floor plan and make it as detailed as possible. Marking up the position of doors and windows, the boiler, even structural elements such pillars and beams – basically, any immovable details that will need to be worked around. This now forms the basis of your starting point and you can discuss with us the sort of thing you want to create within the space.
Choosing Appliances
Our clients specified that they wanted a ‘good reliable brand of appliances’, so we suggested a range AEG products. Our 5-year warranty is complimentary with most of these models. We suggested two further suppliers who offer products tailored specifically toward meeting these needs: Miro with regards to extractors (they’re experts) as well as Dunavox – to supply two wine coolers.
Bringing the design to life
They wanted a space with plenty of colour, but they weren’t exactly sure what. They saw Hartforth Blue in one of our showroom displays and it captured their interest – so we made this happen for them!
By visualising their kitchen in 3D our clients got a real feeling for their cabinet colour choices, the functionality of the kitchen, and how the adjoining sociable dining space would work together.
Installation
At Willox Kitchens we provide full installation service but at the clients’ request, their kitchen was installed by the team building their new home – Cumming Joinery Services, who we work with on a regular basis. The kitchen is a beautiful and spacious area in their home.
We were so excited to receive this message from our delighted customer:
“Very pleased with our new kitchen and the dekton surfaces we chose. The Willox team have been very helpful throughout the whole process”
