Our clients were captivated by the Millbourne kitchen in Cashmere from Second Nature. This soft, warm shade ties in seamlessly with the rest of their home, creating a cohesive and inviting atmosphere. The subtle hue of Cashmere adds a touch of elegance without overpowering the room, making it a versatile choice for any cottage kitchen.

 

Maximising Space and Functionality

To maintain a spacious and airy feel, the clients opted for a built-under fridge, allowing the sink to take centre stage on the back wall. The Rangemaster Hartland ceramic sink became a stunning focal point, especially when paired with 38mm Duropal laminate worktops in Natural Messina. The absence of tall units enhanced the open feel and provided ample countertop space for meal prep and entertaining.

 

Custom Features for a Personalised Touch

The beauty of a Shaker style kitchen lies in its simplicity and craftsmanship. To add a personal touch, the clients chose tongue and groove panels for the units. Their joiner also crafted a matching panel on the wall behind the dining table, tying the entire room together.

 

Storage was another key consideration. Wide pan drawers under the dressers offer convenient space for pots and pans, while taller wall units take advantage of the cottage’s high ceilings, maximising storage without cluttering the space.

 

One of the standout features of this kitchen is the glass dresser units, which provide the perfect place to display cherished items. The addition of a plate rack not only offers practical storage but also creates a charming display. An open shelved unit with a light above is ideal for showcasing cookbooks and other decorative pieces, adding to the kitchen’s warm and inviting feel.

 

Lighting plays a crucial role in setting the mood in any kitchen. Under unit lights were installed to brighten up food prep areas and create a cosy ambience in the evenings. This thoughtful touch ensures the kitchen is both functional and welcoming, no matter the time of day.
