California Beach Vibe Kitchen Transformation

This aesthetic is a sophisticated interpretation of a beach house’s dreamy and relaxing atmosphere. Our clients envisioned an island that would serve as the heart of their culinary adventures, they wanted to take full advantage of the high ceilings in their stunning house and a luxurious, modern, handleless design
Their inspiration was drawn from the laid-back Californian beach lifestyle, where coastal design reigns supreme. They weren’t afraid to experiment with colour and originally contemplated Sage green units. Their main focus was on achieving the perfect blend of a modern, handleless kitchen with the relaxed, luxurious feel of the Californian coast.
Embracing Coastal Colours
The foundation of this kitchen’s transformation was rooted in coastal design principles. Coastal decor is characterised by a limited palette of soft colours, reminiscent of pebbles and grasses. It employs natural materials like weathered wood, embracing the organic and relaxed essence of coastal living. This design works remarkably well in open-plan spaces that maximize natural light, creating an airy timeless environment with a contemporary twist.

Rotpunkt Kitchen Furniture:
Zerox HOR SY in Nature Split Oak and Zerox MA in White, both handleless. These choices added a sense of modernity and warmth to the space.
The kitchen’s tall ceilings allowed us to maximize storage capacity by utilizing Rotpunkt’s tallest tall and wall units. For easy access and organization, 300mm-wide base unit pull-outs were installed next to the range cooker. They proved to be an invaluable addition, providing convenient storage for oils, spices, and more.
The inclusion of numerous drawers, particularly on the island, made the kitchen both functional and stylish when paired with Rot Punkt’s ZMAN under-unit lights, recessed into the carcass, providing a neat and even light source.
Worktops, Sink and Tap:
20mm Silestone in Eternal Calacatta Gold, polished. The natural veining and polished finish perfectly echoed the coastal elegance the clients desired.
The choice of Nature Split Oak as the main colour added warmth to the kitchen and beautifully complemented the warm veining of the Silestone worktop. To further showcase the exquisite veining of the worktop, a matching Silestone splashback was installed, tying the design together seamlessly.
Carron Phoenix Sink: A Fiji 150-16 one and a half bowl granite sink in Polar White, blending seamlessly with the pristine white elements in the kitchen.
Quooker Pro 3 Flex Boiling Water Tap: In stainless steel, this tap provides not only a functional aspect but also a touch of luxury to the kitchen.
Appliances:
Rangemaster Range Cooker and Hood:The Rangemaster Professional Plus range cooker was chosen to fulfil the client’s wish for a range cooker instead of an integrated oven. This choice added a touch of sophistication and functionality to the space while complementing our clients American style Fridge Freezer.
