In this Black Shaker Kitchen Design in Banchory, Aberdeenshire traditional country design meets modern elegance. Our clients wanted a kitchen that blended timeless, classic elements with subtle contemporary touches, resulting in a space that is both functional and sophisticated, a perfect balance of simplicity and charm.

 

Sophisticated style with classic cabinetry

The foundation of this kitchen’s design is built on the elegance of Second Nature’s Mornington Beaded shaker cabinetry, celebrated for its simple, unfussy beauty. The spacious room allowed for a standout feature, a bold island in striking Carbon, with casual seating, adding a modern twist to the otherwise classic design. Its neat silhouette contrasts beautifully with the lighter Porcelain shaker cabinets, creating a striking yet harmonious visual balance. To complete the look, the island is finished with simple brass hardware, offering a touch of warmth and refinement.

 

Country-Inspired Features

A focal point of the kitchen is the stunning mantle that anchors the central wall, drawing attention immediately and enhancing the traditional feel of the space. The 30mm Fusion Stone worktops, polished in Imperial, provide a sleek and refined finish, while seamlessly integrated Neff appliances offer modern functionality without compromising the classic aesthetic.

The worktop pantry adds practical storage, and the spacious Villeroy & Bosch Belfast sink brings a farmhouse charm to the design. A Caple Hadley dual-control tap in Antique Brass ties in with the brass accents throughout, creating a cohesive and sophisticated look.

With plenty of natural light, we incorporated oak accents, including chunky shelves on the walls and oak carcasses within the cabinetry to compliment the country-inspired look. These details tie the kitchen design to the adjacent oak dining table, creating a cohesive flow throughout the space.
